I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
